The Creole cultured town of Port Loyola is a swampy village community with dirt roads, wooden houses, and coconut trees. The people here share a sense of unity and friendliness. Parents work hard to provide for their families, with the most common jobs being construction, street vending, yard maintenance, and housekeeping. While poverty, crime, drug addiction, broken homes, and financial strain are some of the challenges many people here face – we see God’s hand at work. We see people willing to jump in and help one another in times of need. We see the hope of Jesus taking root. We see children dreaming big dreams to change their world. And we can’t wait to see how God uses them for His glory!
