Tierra Blanca

Tierra Blanca, which means “White Land” is known as a “squatter town” on the outskirts of Tegucigalpa. The community is one of the newest and poorest of the squatter areas.

One can be so close to a relatively developed city, and then just a short ride over the hill, and you are in an area with no basic utilities and narrow dirt roads cut into the side of barren hills.

Unemployment, lack of essential services, malnutrition, and overpopulation, culminate to create quite a challenging environment to raise children. Many families wish they could return to the country, but they are stuck between a rock and a hard place because there is nothing for them to return to.

In this area, people only think about surviving another day, and hope is in short supply.

But we see a different story. We see a bright future! We see precious kids who are destined to change the world!  That’s why we have teamed up with the local church to create a place of refuge and a place to dream.

The CarePoint in Tierra Blanca is teaming with activity, and the community has rallied around this beacon of hope. Thanks to Children's Cup Friends, hundreds of children will know a bright Christ-filled future.
