Meet the Twins - Saira y Saida!

😊 😊 Saida and Saira are seventeen-year-old twin sisters. Their father left the home when they were just babies, so it’s always been just them and their mom.

When they first visited the CarePoint, they were very shy and didn’t talk to anyone. They were so shy that when the facilitator went to welcome them and ask them some questions, she thought they were mute.

But as the girls continued to come to the CarePoint, little by little they started to open up. They arrived very early every day and as they leaned in to the devotionals and activities we saw them start to grow in great ways.

But at home, their family’s economic situation was getting worse. The family returned to their hometown in southern Honduras to work, leaving their home in the city. Because of this move, the girls had to drop out of school.

The facilitator of the CarePoint hadn’t heard from them and did everything possible to get in touch. After many attempts they finally found a contact and were able to speak with them!

When the family's financial situation improved a little, they returned to the city. But when they did, they discovered that their home had been overtaken and turned into a place to commit crimes.

They reported it to the authorities, who dispossessed these people, and thus the family was able to return home happily.

But the girls could not return to school because they didn’t have a report card. So Dwight, the CarePoint facilitator, went to the director of the Technical Institute to request the qualifications and to give them another chance to level their classes and finish their 7th grade school year.

It was a miracle that they were accepted!

At the CarePoint, because of your generosity, we were able to help the girls with transportation, uniforms, and school supplies. They were able to make up for lost time and study during their school year.

🙏Now they are in the twelfth grade! And they are also part of our Foundations Program! They are very grateful to Children's Cup for all the help they have been given all these years. They are very active, involved in all activities, and worship the Lord with all their heart. They are an example of perseverance for the other young people in their community and we are so excited about the bright future God has for them.🙏
